# What's JM-?

**JM-** (or **JMDash**) is an **open-source**, general purpose programming language, created with the "*Intent of simplifying the distribution process to the FOSS community developers.*"\
Created and actively maintained by [jstmax!](https://bit.ly/mx_info)

It uses the `.jmdpjf` file extension to save **JM- Project files**, which then get basically compiled into executable files by [JMCompiler](https://jmdash.gitbook.io/jmdash-docs/quick-introduction/jmcompiler).\
\***sidenote from jstmax!** : `I plan to register a slightly shorter file extension because.. 6 characters you know`
